Add a gold and silver to Canada's medal count

Canada has won its first gold medal of the Winter Olympics.

A veteran group of figure skaters collaborated to win top spot.

Gabrielle Daleman of Newmarket took first spot in the team figure skating competition after finishing third in the women's free skate.

That was before teammates Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir won the ice dance segment of the event.

Three time world champ Patrick Chan won the men's free skate.

Also on the podium, snowboarder Laurie Blouin who won silver for Canada in women's slopestyle.
