Another rink at St. Catharines four pad to be replaced
The never ending repairs continue at the St. Catharines four pad.
City engineer Dan Dillon telling council last night they now need to replace rink 2 at the Seymour Hannah Sports Complex.
Rinks 1 and 4 have already been replaced, and plans are in the works to revamp rink 3
Problems with the glycol and heating system underneath the ice surfaces have caused them to heave in recent years.
The city has already set aside $4 million to pay for the repairs.
Staff is also preparing a report on the situation to determine if there is an legal recourse the city can take to recover some of the money.
