Brock students vote to push forward with fitness centre expansion
Brock University's Fitness Centre will be getting a major expansion.
77% of students who voted in a student union referendum last week were in favour of funding the project.
It's expected to cost between $6 and $6.8 million dollars to increase the space from the current 4,300 square feet to 15,500 square feet.
To finance the expansion, full and part time undergraduate students will pay a $17-per-credit fee over a five year period beginning in September of 2020 once the expansion is completed.
After the five year window ends, students will be charged a $1.25-per-credit fee to cover the cost of upkeep and operation.
