Brock U offers grief counselling for students dealing with murder of first year student

Brock University is offering grief counselling today for students  dealing with the violent weekend killing of 19-year-old Brock student Yosif al-Hasnawi.

On its website the school says the Brock community was left in shock and mourning after learning the first-year Medical Sciences student died in a shooting incident in downtown Hamilton, after trying to help someone who was being accosted on the street.

A group counselling session will be held for students today from noon to 2 pm.

One on one counselling is also available and officials have arranged for an Imam to come to the school tomorrow and Thursday to offer support at the Faith and Life Centre.

People wanting more information about this or other spiritual support should contact Andre Basson at abasson@brocku.ca.
