Caistor Centre man facing charges after midnight traffic stop

A man from Caistor Centre is facing several charges after a midnight traffic stop.

Hamilton Police stopped a grey Chevrolet Cruze on Kenilworth Ave South today.

During the stop, officers could smell cannabis within the car and noticed a small plastic bag of marijuana poking out from the sweatshirt pocket of the driver, which appeared to be unsealed.

Police also found a second bag of cannabis and a plastic jar containing crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

In all, officers seized 21 grams of crack cocaine, 16 grams of cannabis, and 525 unmarked cigarettes.

The 23 year old driver faces three charges including possession of a controlled substance, driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available, and possessing unmarked cigarettes.
