Canadian rap superstar wins big at 2019 Billboard Music Awards
Toronto-born rapper Drake won 12 awards in all, including top male artist, top streaming songs artist, and best album for ‘Scorpion’.
Over the course of his career, he has a total of 27 Billboard awards which surpasses Taylor Swift for most all time.
The awards show was hosted by Kelly Clarkson at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Taylor Swift opened up the show with the live debut of her new song “ME!”, joined by Brendon Urie from Panic and the Disco.
Other winners on the night included Ariana Grande, who picked up the award for top female artist, BTS, who took home the top duo/group award, and Luke Combs, who won top country artist.
