Cannabis producer with Pelham greenhouse lays off 180 workers

CKTB - NEWS - Cannabis grow

Cannabis producer CannTrust Holdings is laying off 180 workers, which is about 20% of its workforce.

This after the company which operates two facilities in Pelham and Vaughn was cited by Health Canada for non compliance for growing the crop in unlicensed rooms.

The Ontario Cannabis Store then returned close to $3 million worth of CannTrust's product.

There is no word how many workers at the  Pelham plant will be effected.

The Pelham plant, which opened last year, employs more than 350 people.
