Cineplex facing backlash after agreeing to screen anti-abortion film
Cinplex is facing backlash after deciding to screen an anti-abortion film.
The film 'Unplanned' is based on the real life story of a Planned Parenthood clinic director in Texas who becomes an anti-abortion speaker.
Cineplex CEO Ellis Jacob has issued a statement, saying they have received many phone calls and emails about the film but, "it is up to each of us to decide whether or not we want to see it. In Canada, we have that option and I think it is an important thing to remember."
Unplanned is set to play at 14 Cineplex theatres and 10 Landmark Cinemas in Canada.
So far neither the Landmark Cinema in St. Catharines or the Niagara Square Cineplex in Niagara Falls are listing any screenings of the film.
