City of St. Catharines to buy part of old Glen Ridge School property
A decision by St. Catharines city council meeting with loud cheers and applause last night from residents who packed chambers, spilling into the hallway.
Council agreeing to buy part of the old Glen Ridge School property to turn into a park.
The city will ask the DSBN to sell it about a third of the school property , if it declines, the city will then investigate buying the entire property, and then sell off the part it doesn't need to a third party.
The school building has been designated a heritage site.
