City of Thorold looking for volunteer firefighters
Fire officials say they are hoping to hire between 15 and 20 volunteers.
It's a paid position, with recruits being paid for their time helping put out fires as well as training.
The money is paid out once a year typically before Christmas.
Officials would also like interested applicants to know, training for the position involves a lot of hours, up to 180 hours over the first six months.
Interested volunteers can attend one of two recruitment information sessions this month, one October 25th at Station 2 on Allanburg Road and the other October 30th at Station 4 on Highway 20.
Both sessions begin at 7 pm.
