College teachers begin preparations for possible strike/lockout

Faculty at Niagara College have been called to a meeting at the end of the week to meet with union reps.

OPSEU says in an email, while we hope there won't be a work stoppage, we do need to prepare in the event one happens.

The meeting Friday will deal with strike/lockout preparation and give teachers their first chance to sign up for picket duty.

Ontario's 12 thousand college faculty will be in a legal strike position October 15th.

One of the main issues has been over the use of part time faculty.
