Convicted killer withdraws request to visit St. Catharines

After public outrage, a convicted killer has withdrawn his request for a temporary escorted leave so he could visit family in St. Catharines.

Steve Taylor took to Facebook, posting the letter detailing Elio Caputo's request to visit St. Catharines. In the post Taylor said the request makes him sick to his stomach as he recalls the man stalking and terrorizing his seventeen year old sister Cara before she was murdered in 1993.

Cara was Caputo's ex girlfriend.

Steve Taylor, tells the Standard he is relieved after a Corrections Canada victims services officer informed him yesterday that  Caputo withdrew his application.
