Crime Stoppers of Niagara says ticket sale phone calls legitimate
Crime Stoppers of Niagara says although they don't collect donations via phone, someone else is doing so on their behalf.
Yesterday Crime Stoppers received a report from a senior who had answered a call from someone asking for donations for the organization.
Using social media, Crime Stoppers started to get the word out about a potential scam, but it now it appears it was all a misunderstanding:
Connect Marketing is hosting a benefit show in June at Club Italia in Niagara Falls with ticket sale proceeds donated to Crime Stoppers.
Tickets are being sold in several ways, including over the phone.
Crime Stoppers acknowledges those calls are legitimate, and apologizes for the inconvenience.
