Deadly weekend on Niagara roadways
Police in Niagara Falls are investigating two fatal traffic accidents.
The first happened early yesterday morning, on Bigger Road near Montrose, and police say it involved alcohol.
They say a 20-year-old woman was killed when the driver of a car she was a passenger in lost control and rolled the vehicle into a ditch.
The woman died at the scene, while the driver and two other passengers in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.
Officers charged 22-year-old Jake Pirson of Welland with impaired driving causing death.
Police say the driver of another vehicle was killed early yesterday afternoon when they crashed into heavy equipment inside a construction zone on the QEW in the falls.
It happened in an area between Sodom and McLeod Road.
No other details are available.
