Did Carmen D'Angelo quit or was he fired?

Niagara's Regional Chair Jim Bradley is staying quiet on a recent report that states the region's former CAO did not quit.

The Niagara Independent is reporting that controversial former CAO Carmen D'Angelo did not resign from his prestigious position even though he is suing the Region for over a million dollars for constructive dismissal.

Bradley tells CKTB he is not able to comment since the matter is now before the courts.

Niagara's acting CAO Ron Tripp confirmed to CKTB that D'Angelo was no longer working with the region.

D'Angelo has been a lightning rod of controversy, starting with his hiring in October 2016 and his contract extension which included three years pay even if he was paid with cause.

The Ombudsman office is investigating the matter.
