Disney and an early retirement for St.Catharines lotto winner
It is off to Disney World for St.Catharines' latest millionaire.
Dean Burmania of St. Catharines said yes to ENCORE (May 13, 2017 ONTARIO 49) and won $1 million.
Dean matched all seven winning numbers on his ENCORE selection.
“I like to add ENCORE when I buy lottery tickets,” shared Dean while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up his winnings. “It gives me another chance at winning.”
The married father of two was at the gas station to fill up when he decided to buy some lottery tickets. “I put them in my wallet and forgot all about it.” Days later, Dean logged on to olg.ca to check his numbers. “After reviewing the main draw numbers, I noticed I had the right ENCORE combination on one of my tickets. I looked at the screen and back at my ticket at least three times.”
After checking all his lottery tickets, Dean shared the exciting news with his wife. “She did not believe me at first because I do joke around a lot. I told her to check out the website and verify for herself. A few hours later I went to a retailer and used the ticket checker.”
Plans are underway for Dean’s windfall. “This prize amount will go towards my family and an early retirement. My wife has never been on a plane so we are planning a trip to Disney World!” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Glenridge Avenue in St. Catharines.
