Dozens of calls were made to report pets left in the cold in Niagara

The Lincoln County Humane Society reports that dozen calls have been made regarding animals left out in the cold.

Executive Director Kevin Strooband tells CKTB they have had several reports of pets being left in cold cars or outside their homes, and he expects more as people arrive home.

The temperature today dropped to minus 14, but it felt like minus 30 with the windchill.

Skin can become frostbitten within minutes.
