Elderly woman robbed in Welland
Niagara Regional Police are looking for a suspect after the robbery of an elderly woman during the middle of the day.
The incident happened yesterday in Welland near Thorold road and Price Charles drive.
Police say that a weapon was used and that the woman was targeted due to her occupation.
The victim was treated in hospital suffering some minor injuries and has since been released.
The culprit fled on foot making away with some cash and other items that belonged to the woman.
He was last seen running in the direction of the Food Basics Plaza located at 325 Thorold Road, Welland.
The culprit is described as a white male dressed in black clothing.
The Niagara Regional Police Service are asking members of the public who were in the area between 10:00 am and 1:45 pm and may have witnessed this culprit contact
