Expanded Programming on the way for Welland Hospice
A $10,000 grant from the city of Welland will help Hospice Niagara expand the Day Hospice program.
The program is offered at no cost to the clients, and will now run every Thursday at the Centre de sante communautaire as officials hope to serve more Francophone clients.
Participants describe the experience as giving them 'a sense of community and belonging at a time in their life when illness can feel overwhelming and isolating.'
Activities can include art projects, card games, self-care therapies, and live entertainment by local musicians.
Day hospice also runs in St. Catharines every Wednesday at The Stabler Centre.
