Fill up tonight, the carbon tax comes into effect tomorrow

It might be a good idea to fill up at the pumps today as experts anticipate a jump in price.

Tomorrow, the new federal carbon tax comes into effect  for Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick.

Earlier this week, Environment Minister Catherine McKenna admitted residents can expect to pay an average of four cents more per litre.

This comes as the federal government imposes a carbon tax to combat climate change after the provincial Ford government refused to do so.

Residents can expect a rebate starting at $128 per year on their 2018 income tax return to help offset the cost.
