Fines double in Niagara's two new Community Safety Zones
Drivers with lead feet could face hefty fines in Niagara's two new 'Community Safety Zones.'
Fines for speeding and traffic signal related offences have doubled in the areas around St. David's Public School in Niagara-On-The-Lake and Twenty Valley Public School in Lincoln.
Signs will be going up to mark the beginning and end of the designated zones.
The zone in St. David's on York Road runs from Queenston Road to Concession 3 Road.
The Lincoln zone near Twenty Valley Public School is on Victoria Ave between Frederick Ave and King Street.
The areas were selected due to heightened safety concerns, including the percentage of students and families walking to school and the number of safety and speeding complaints.
