Ford revokes cap and trade system

Premier Doug Ford says he has revoked the regulation that kept the province's cap-and-trade system in place.

The newly sworn-in premier says his P-C government will now begin winding down all the green programs that had been funded through the system.

He says any contracts and orders that have already been signed for, such as energy efficient insulation and window retrofits, will be honoured.

Ford says the government will decide on a case-by-case basis whether some initiatives previously funded by the program will be paid for using tax base revenue
