Fort Erie couple loses winter home in Hurricane Dorian, launches GoFundMe to help neighbours
A Fort Erie couple who lost their winter home in Grand Bahama in Hurricane Dorian have launched a GoFundMe page to help their friends on the devastated island.
Ken and Fiona Williams write "We want to raise money to help provide basic supplies and/or collect the basic supplies for immediate survival. These funds are needed as soon as possible to help with our relief efforts. We also plan to drive to Fort Lauderdale and bring any basic supplies we collect, over on the Balearia ferry."
They say while they lost their home, they still have a residence in Niagara, which is far more than many of their friends on the island have.
So far the gofundme has raised over $17,000 of its $40,000 goal.
