Fort Erie's expanded transit system delayed
Fort Erie's transit route expansion has hit a speed bump.
At this week's council meeting, council was asked to include a stop at Walmart as part of the planned expanded route. To fully incorporate this new stop, staff will spend the next four weeks looking at route timing with the Transit Advisory Committee.
Some of the highlights for the Town's enhanced transit system include a three route system and service expansion, a main bus hub at the Leisureplex, extended hours, audio and visual pre-boarding and onboard announcements, and new smart card fare.
The launch was originally slated for September 5th, that's now been pushed back to October 2nd.
