Fort Lauderdale shooting suspect served in US military
The suspect in yesterday's deadly shooting at the airport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida once told FBI agents in Alaska that the government was controlling his mind and making him watch Islamic State group videos.
An anonymous law enforcement official says FBI agents notified police, who took Esteban Santiago in for a mental health evaluation.
Relatives say Santiago had a history of mental difficulties, some of which followed his military service in Iraq.
Five people were killed and eight wounded in yesterday's incident.
