Four suspects sought in St. Catharines incident

Police searching for four suspects in a St. Catharines shooting incident.

Officers were called to a Lake Street apartment around 7:30 last night, after four men broke in and fired a gun after threatening a female occupant of the unit.

Police say the woman was injured in the incident and was taken to hospital where she is being treated for a non life threatening injury.

The suspects are described as four males, all dressed in black or dark clothing, wearing hooded sweaters or jackets, with their faces covered.

Two of the males are beleived to be white and the other two are described as black.
 
Investigators do not believe that this event was a random act.

The weapon has not been recovered.
