Funeral this morning for long serving Niagara Police officer
Hundreds of police officers are expected this morning in Fort Erie to pay tribute to one of their own.
Constable William "Sandi" Harrison died suddenly at home last week at the age of 70.
His obituary says Sandi had just entered his 50th year of service with the NRP.
He began his policing career with the Welland City Police Department in 1968 and after amalgamation became a member of the NRP.
His last post was with the Centralized Court Unit in Welland.
A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at Benner Funeral Home at 11:00 this morning with internment to follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetary.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Niagara Safety Village in Welland.
