Great Holiday Food Drive tomorrow
Tomorrow, is the day the White House of Rock and Talk hosts our annual Great Holiday Food Drive in support of Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.
It's the day we ask you to help us "Stuff the Bus" with donations to help those in need this Christmas season.
610 CKTB News, 105.7 EZ Rock and 97.7 HTZ FM will be broadcasting tomorrow from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm in front of St. Catharines city hall, where we will also be accepting donations of non perishable food items, diapers, new clothing and cash. ( See full list below.)
Community Care CEO Betty Lou Souter says the event represents a turning point towards reaching their holiday collection goals.
We will also be set up in front of Zehr's Market at the Pen Centre where our elves will also be collecting your donations.
If you can't make it out tomorrow, you can text the word GIVE to to 20222 to make a $10 or $25 donation directly to Community Care .
Here is a list of the most needed items this holiday season:
A good rule of thumb… whatever you would want on your holiday table, including mains and sides, along with treats (fruit cake and chocolates!)
o Peanut butter
o Canned tuna/salmon, meats, stews, chili
o Canned fruit/vegetables
o Noodles & Sauce & Canned Pasta (Sidekicks, Beefaroni, Alphagetti, etc.)
o Juice (boxes and large cans)
o Baby formula and cereal
o Diapers, in particular sizes 4 months, size 5 & 6 & wipes
o NEW socks and underwear for all ages
o New clothing (construction boots are always needed!)
o Toiletries (no razors or mouthwash)
Cash donations have a big impact on those that need it most, because Community Care has the ability to stretch your donation through their purchasing capacity filling the food shelves where most needed.
