Grimbsy senior injured in pedestrian-truck collision

A 79 year old Grimsby woman suffered life threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in Grimsby.

Police say the woman was attempting to cross the intersection of Christie and Olive Street,  just after 4:00 yesterday afternoon,  when she was struck by a truck turning left onto Christie.

The 20 year old driver of the truck from Jordan Station and his passenger, a 28 year old St. Catharines man were not injured.

The pedestrian was rushed to an out of region trauma centre.

There is no word on her condition.

The crash remain under investigation.
