Guelph man charged in dine and dash
Police say a 39-year-old man from Guelph bit off more than he could chew when he allegedly feigned illness to get out of paying restaurant bills.
They allege the man tried to run his scam on Wednesday evening at two separate downtown restaurants.
In both cases, they say he appeared to develop unknown medical symptoms that resulted in a call for an ambulance.
On the second call, ambulance attendants allegedly recognized the man and called police.
They determined that the man was not intoxicated or in medical distress and allege that he was faking illness to get out of paying his bills.
The man is charged with fraudulently obtaining food.
