Hamilton area job numbers some of best in country
A new BMO analysis shows employment in the Hamilton area was the second fastest growing in the country in the third quarter of this year.
The area, which also includes Burlington and Grimsby, posted a 12.5 percent growth in employment compared to the same period last year.
Only Kelowna, BC ranked higher.
The increase comes at the same time the jobless rate for the Hamilton area fell to 4.2 percent.
But the author of the report, Bank of Montreal Economist Robert Kavcic cautions, the numbers are based on where you live, not where you work and some of those jobs numbers could be from people who live in the area but work elsewhere in the GTA.
