Hamilton council wants apology from Province over Red Hill

Politicians in Hamilton are demanding an apology from the Province over the long hidden report concerning low friction testing on the Red Hill Valley Parkway.

Councillor Sam Merulla has brought forth of notice of motion after a Ministry of Transportation report detailing the potentially dangerous conditions on the well travelled road was hidden.

The MTO document coincided with a report from Hamilton city staff that remained buried for six years.

City Council has already apologized and councillors admitted they had no idea the report even existed.

Last month, the city's general issues committee voted to immediately reduce speed limits along the parkway to 80 km/hr.
