Hamilton police investigating vandalism in Durand neighbourhood
A terrifying night on Hamilton's trendy Locke Street.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects involved in several acts of vandalism in the neighbourhood around 10:00 p.m. last night
Police say a group of about 30 people, all dressed in black with their faces covered, set off fireworks, damaged vehicles and threw rocks at store windows.
They carried a banner that read "We Are The Ungovernables."
The police service action team, mounted unit and emergency response team were all called out
The group dispersed immediately, some discarding clothing as they fled.
Police remained in the area last night trying to determine what was damaged, collecting evidence and video and speaking to witnesses.
