Hamilton's mayor speaks out over closure of Spectator's printing and mailroom operations
The Mayor of Hamilton speaking out after news today that the Hamilton Spectator's printing and mailroom will be shut down in the summer.
Fred Eisenberger says he is thinking about the 180 employees who will impacted by the closure.
Torstar Corp announced today it will be closing the operations over the summer, with plans to potentially sell the property.
The printing work done at the facility will be transferred to other facilities.
If the property is sold, the company says it expects the Hamilton Spectator will continue to operate a head office in a new location in the Hamilton area.
