Hamilton woman donating kidney to complete stranger

A Hamilton woman is getting kudos for her decision to donate a kidney to a complete stranger.

In two weeks time, Christi Nolan, a yoga instructor in the city, will give her kidney to a 42 year old Toronto mother.

The two met after Jennan Johnson posted a plea on Facebook for a kidney after learning she had only four years to live unless she received a transplant

The wait list for a donor kindey is about eight years.

Nolan says she doesn't feel she deserves the praise, but her and Johnson are using the experience to urge others in the province to become living donors.
