HEAT | Niagara officially under a heat warning

CKTB - NEWS - Heat Wave

Niagara is officially under a heat warning.

Environment Canada meteorologists say a hot and humid air mass will remain over the region through today and into tomorrow.

During the afternoon today temperatures will edge into the low 30s, feeling more like 40 with the humidity.

Tomorrow we can expect the same heat to start the day off before a cold front moves through later on, cooling things down for Sunday.

Experts warn that although the heat impacts everyone, young children, pregnant women, older adults, and people with chronic illnesses can face a greater risk of heat related illness.

Drink plenty of water even before feeling thirsty and stay in a cool place.

And of course, never leave pets or people in a parked vehicle.
