High risk tick areas in Niagara
Niagara's Public Health Unit has identified several areas in Niagara as high risk area for ticks.
The at-risk areas include, Point Abino in Fort Erie, the Wainfleet Bog, Mud Lake and Rotary Park in St. Catharines.
Several months ago, the city of Hamilton was declared a Lyme disease risk area, after several blacklegged ticks were found at Christie Lake Conservation Area.

If you find a tick on you, you can also submit it to the region for analysis to determine if it is a blacklegged or a deer tick which can carry Lyme disease.
