Hockey sticks left out in tribute to 15 Humboldt Broncos killed in horrific crash
Hockey sticks are being left propped outside doorways across Niagara in tribute to the 15 Humboldt Broncos players and support staff killed in a horrific bus collision in Saskatchewan.
#PutYourStickOut is trending on social media across North America as the hockey community continues to struggle to cope with the sudden and devastating loss.
Winnipeg Jets Broadcaster for TSN Brian Munz joined in, posting a photo from a friend with the text "Leaving it out on the porch tonight. The boys might need it...wherever they are."
Thousands of people gathered at the Bronco's home arena last, clinging to each other for support as they try to move toward healing.
Donations for the families will be collected at tonight's Niagara Ice Dogs game at the Meridian Centre. Fans are also encouraged to sign large banners that will be sent to Humboldt in a show of support.
