Hurricane Michael now a Category 4 storm
Florida's governor is tweeting out 'the time for evacuating along the coast has come and gone' as Hurricane Michael is now a dangerous Category 4 storm.
Rick Scott says first responders will not be able to make it out in the middle of the storm to rescue people who chose to stay in evacuation zones, and urges the citizens there to immediately seek refuge.
The hurricane is expected to make landfall along the northwest Florida coast today.
Officials from the National Weather Centre say outer rainbands are beginning to reach the coast and this is a life-threatening event for portions of the northeastern Gulf Coast.
