IceDogs Outwork, Outlast Petes 4-3
The IceDogs scored four unanswered goals en-route to a 4-3 victory over Peterborough. The Petes came to town, winners of 9 of their last 10 and were dominated for most of the contest.
Two first period power-play goals put the Dogs behind 2-0 but Matt Phillip’s 10th of the year got the home side on the board late. The IceDogs recorded 19 of the 31 first period shots.
In the second, Dan Singer banged home a rebound to tie things at two. Akil Thomas’ deflection of a Will Lockhead point shot put the IceDogs on top and Kyle Langdon banked a shot from the right corner off a Petes defender.
A Petes power-play goal ended the scoring in a game where the Dogs out-shot Peterborough 42-36.
Saturday night it’s a trip to Hamilton to play the Bulldogs. The pre-game on 610 CKTB begins at 6:30
