IS claims responsibility for UK attack

The Islamic State group claims the man who staged an attack on the British Parliament was a ``soldier of the Islamic State.''

Police have identified the man, who was born in the U-K, but have not released his identity.

Officers conducted major raids overnight and have detained seven people.

The Queen is expressing her deepest sympathy for everyone affected by the attack and her enduring thanks and admiration for the members of the Metropolitan Police Service.

Conservative M-P James Cleverly is calling for Constable Keith Palmer, who was stabbed to death outside Parliament, to receive posthumous recognition for his ``gallantry and sacrifice.''
