It's full steam ahead for huge casino development in Pickering
The two casinos in Niagara Falls are getting more competition up the highway.
Plans are moving forward on a casino resort in Pickering.
Officials with Ontario Gaming GTA announcing they are now going to start getting the necessary permits to begin construction on a casino resort close to the 401, west of Church Street.
The resort will employ about 2,000 workers, and generate $1.3 billion dollars a year in economic activity for the region.
Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan says the casino could be up and operating in just over two years.
