Kevin O'Leary announces leadership bid
Businessman Kevin O'Leary has announced he is running for the Conservative leadership.
O'Leary said he intended to run in a video posted to his Facebook page on Wednesday morning, moments before making the official announcement on CTV.
In the video, O'Leary said he is excited to run because ``the potential of this country is absolutely immense.''
"It starts right now," O'Leary told CTV's Your Morning, moments after the announcement online. "I'm in."
He will be competing against 13 other candidates, including MPs Kellie Leitch, Maxime Bernier and Steven Blaney.
O'Leary is entering the race one day after the Conservatives' first French-language leadership debate, in which all 13 other candidates participated.
