Border officials bracing for busy Family/Presidents' Day weekend in Niagara

Canada Border Service officials in Niagara are anticipating a busy Family Day and Presidents' Day weekend at the borders.

They say traffic volumes for the shared holiday weekend are traditionally higher, with the busiest day falling on Monday.

They're encouraging travellers to to check and plan ahead when crossing the border.

  • IceDogs Grab a Point in Erie

    Trailing 4-1 after one, the IceDogs scored three unanswered in the second then held off a furious Erie attack in the third before falling 5-4 in overtime. The Dogs picked up a possible 7 of 8 points, completing a string of four consecutive road games.
  • Dogs Win Late in Guelph 3-1

    Johnny Corneil scored a pair of goals and Ondrej Machala netted the game winner with 3:15 left as the IceDogs won 3-1 in Guelph. With a record of 6 and 2, Billy Burke's team has won three straight on the road.
  • IceDogs Clip Bulldogs in 3-2 Shootout Win

    Akil Thomas scored the only goal in the shootout as the IceDogs came back from two down to edge Hamilton 3-2. Stephen Dhillon made two great saves in overtime to get the game past 65 minutes as the Dogs improved their record to 5 and 2.
