Charges against a youth following incident at Sherkston Shores bar
An incident Saturday at Sherkston Shores in Port Colborne has resulted in charges against a youth.
Niagara Regional Police were called to the patio of a bar at Sherkston after two males were discovered sleeping in the area.
When officers attempted to wake the pair, one suddenly turned violent, lunging at the officer and attempting to grab his gun to disarm the officer.
The suspect then lunged at another officer before he was arrested.
The male has been charged with assaulting police, disarming a police officer, and assault with a weapon.
The suspect cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth and Criminal Justice Act.
The officers were not seriously hurt in the incident.
Colton Incze was outstanding in goal but it wasn't enough as the IceDogs lost 3-1 in Mississauga. Getting the start against the league's top rated power-play, Incze made several great stops at the Steelheads went 1 for 14 with the man advantage.
The IceDogs got contributions from 6 different goal scorers in a 6-1 win on home ice over North Bay. The Dogs have now won two of their past three and are just four points out of top spot in the Central Division of the OHL.
The IceDogs announced today that the team has acquired overage forward Adrian Carbonara from the London Knights in exchange for a 4th round pick in 2020. One year ago, Carbonara accumulated 12 goals and 33 points in 63 games.
