DSBN students take up coding challenge

DSBN students are attempting to cram nearly four years’ worth of coding into a single week.

Students have taken on the challenge of reaching 2 million minutes of coding in one week.

The school board says all it will take is for every one of its students to spend one hour coding to surpass their target.

As of yesterday, students had already logged over 750,000 minutes with three more days to go.

It's part of the Hour of Code, a global movement whose goal is to demystify coding and make it more accessible to all student

    The IceDogs are heading into the Christmas Break off a 5-3 loss to visiting Barrie on the team's first ever Ugly Christmas Sweater Game. Twice, the IceDogs made it a one goal game in the third before surrendering an empty netter late.
  • Teddies and IceDogs Fall at Meridian Centre

    The annual IceDogs Teddy Bear Toss Game, good for those in need, not so good for the home team. The IceDogs dropped their 5th straight “Teddy” game, falling 6-3 to North Bay.
  • Dhillon Perfect in Ottawa 3-0

    Stephen Dhillon stopped all 29 Ottawa shots to record his first shutout of the year in a 3-0 road win Saturday night. Elijah Roberts, playing in his 150th game was outstanding at both ends of the ice.
