First students graduate from Indigenous youth training program
A special event is happening today as the first students from an Indigenous youth training program based in Niagara are set to graduate.
The students in the Niagara Peninsula Aboriginal Area Management Board’s Journey to Success program will be honoured at a special ceremony.
Niagara College is a key partner in the Journey to Success program, which provides a training course equipping Indigenous youth with both soft employability skills, as well as the on-the-job training they need to prepare for, get and keep jobs.
The class graduating today received focused training preparing youth for careers in the hospitality sector.
Each student who completes the course receives a Statement of Completion from Niagara College.
Classes for the program were held at Niagara College’s Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus, and drew on the expertise in NC’s School of Hospitality and Tourism
