Go-fund me page started for Welland teen that drowned in Welland River
A go-fund me page has been started for the family of an 18 year old who tragically died last week.
Gage Rockwell drowned in the Welland River on Friday while swimming with a friend.
Niagara Regional Police say the teen was swimming in an area adjacent to a campground on Stanley Avenue when he started struggling. Nearby campers attempted to help but couldn't reach him.
The fund has been set up by relatives of Rockwell with a goal to raise 10-thousand to help with funeral expenses.
Since Saturday the fund has raised more than $6,000.

A night of deflections went the way of the visitors as the IceDogs fell 6-3 to visiting Owen Sound. In the 'Dogs first game in a 6 game in 9 days stretch, the home side was unable to hold a third period one goal lead.
