High winds in Hamilton topple sign, injuring two pedestrians

The investigation continues after a 58 year old man suffered serious injuries when a large commercial sign crashed down on top of him in Hamilton over the weekend.

Police say the sign broke from its supports around 3:00 in the afternoon at the corner of Main Street East and Catherine Street South.

A second man was also hit by the sign, but fortunately only received minor injuries.

High wind warnings were posted in the city at the time of the incident.

Police say the 58 year old victim is now in stable condition in hospital.

    The IceDogs had their way with visiting Hamilton for 40 minutes Wednesday night but couldn't hold a one goal lead, falling 4-2 in game four on home ice. It was Hamilton's first regulation win against the IceDogs in 10 tries this season.
