Niagara man arrested after threatening emails sent to Hamilton City Council members
A Niagara man is facing a criminal harassment charge after police say he was making threats to Hamilton City Council members.
Over a two week period, a Hamilton councillor says they received several threatening emails. Police haven't said how many additional councillors may have been targeted at this time.
The NRP and Hamilton Police teamed up for the investigation, and have now arrested a 36 year old man.

A very successful 2017-2018 IceDogs regular season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 win over Mississauga. A sellout St Patty's Day Meridian Centre crowd watched Niagara record their 35th win of the season for a total of 80 points in the OHL's Eastern Conference as Johnny Corneil lead the way with a goal and two assists.
Kirill Maksimov enjoyed a four point night while Johnny Corneil and Ben Jones each scored a pair in the IceDogs 6-3 Friday night win in Erie. With the win, Niagara has now secured home ice advantage in their first round playoff series with Oshawa.
Johnny Corneil scored the overtime winner exactly half-way through the extra period as the IceDogs prevailed 3-2 over visiting Hamilton for Niagara's fifth win in six meetings versus the Bulldogs. Stephen Dhillon was also big stopping 41 shots for the IceDogs fifth straight victory.
